Woe, Is Me – Number[s] Review

“I am the monster you created, and like a mountain we look down on kings/ You reside in me, my thoughts and my dreams won’t die”

Some might say that 7 members in a hardcore band is too many. It’s true that it goes against normal tendencies, but with the debut release of Number[s] by Woe, Is Me, these boys from Atlanta have conquered any and all nay-sayers.

This album features an intriguing and fresh blend of hardcore and post-hardcore elements with seasoned electronica work throughout.

Vocally, this album reflects heavily on the band’s experimental nature. To put it in the most describable terms, this vocal dichotomy creates and displays a state of healthy contradiction. The raw and brutal screams are layered and complemented with a level of singing that seems somewhat unapproachable by your typical hardcore band.

Be ready to expect HUGE things from this band in the near future. Buy the album and be ready to be politely punched in the face, metaphorically of course.
